Partners

 

The firm has five partners all of whom are general practitioners. With the support of senior staff they deal with auditing, accountancy, taxation, business planning and general business advice for their own portfolio of clients. However, in addition, they deal with different areas of specialisation.

Trevor Climpson FCA
Born in Gravesend and educated at Gravesend Grammar School.He joined King & Taylor in 1960 and trained with that firm.

Qualified in 1966 winning The Plender Prize for the paper on Advanced Accounting and became a partner in 1968. Previously a churchwarden at St. John's Higharn and is currently a trustee of several local trusts and secretary and treasurer of a number of non-business organisations.

Trevor is the audit and investment business compliance partner for the firm and specialises in audits particularly with regard to other professional firms, charities, family companies and personal taxation.

Kevin Hayman FCA
Born in Pembury, Kent and educated at Maidstone Grammar School. Kevin trained with Kingsford Garlant (now Spain Brothers) in Maidstone. He joined King & Taylor in 1970, qualifying in 1972 and becoming a partner in 1973.

Kevin has served in many capacities having been Chairman of the South Eastern Society of Chartered Accountants Mid Kent Discussion Group, Chairman of the General Purposes Committee and then President of the UK200 Group of Practicing Chartered Accountants, Treasurer and then Chairman of Age Concern Gravesend, Vice Chairman of Age Concern Kent and a Trustee/Director of The Lions Hospice Management Committee based in Gravesend. These appointments have given him a wide range of experience of the accountancy profession generally and the charity sector in particular.

Kevin specialises in business planning, finance and re-organisation, dealing particularly with existing businesses with an emphasis on Ebusiness and the entertainment industry. He is a keen golfer and enjoys watching rugby.

Lynne Chesterton FCA
Born in Gravesend and educated at Gravesend Grammar School for Girls and City of London Polytechnic.

Joined King & Taylor in 1974 and qualified with that firm. Qualified in 1978 winning the Fletcher Prize for obtaining third place in the country in the final examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Became a partner with King & Taylor in 1981.

Keenly involved in Guiding, Lynne runs a local Brownie Pack and currently holds administrative posts at Division and County level. An active member of a local church having in the past been a member of the Finance Committee assisting the Treasurer with budgeting and accountancy.

Lynne administers the firm and specialises in assisting businesses with their own administration and computer facilities.

Grigor Hisock FCA
Born in Gravesend and educated at Kings School, Rochester. Trained with Hughes & Allen, London qualifying in 1974. Worked in business for Richard Costain Limited for nine years spending two years in the Middle East and a short spell in Nigeria. Joined King & Taylor in 1983 and became a partner in 1985.

Grigor specialises in dealing with medical and dental practices and also has considerable experience of the construction industry.

Philip Humphries BSc FCA
After gaining a Maths degree from Southampton University, Philip trained with Deloitte Haskins & Sells, a large international firm, in London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979. Having gained experience in other local firms, he joined King & Taylor in 1984, becoming a partner in 1987. This has given him a wide range of experience in dealing with clients of all types and sizes.

Philip specialises in providing audit, tax and accountancy services to owner managed companies, partnerships and sole traders, particularly new and expanding ones. He also has considerable experience of the construction industry, charities, friendly societies and the legal profession.

He is married with two teenage sons. In his spare time, he is a keen tennis player and has been heavily involved in his local tennis club for many years. He also plays chess and is interested in most sports, especially football.
